“Universal Design” Elements Help Young and Old

A video from The Wall Street Journal website discusses the concept of “universal design,” which refers to home design features that make residences more accessible and useable for people, even as they age. Some features include wider doorways, higher outlets, and lower counters.

The designs are gaining popularity as the baby boomer population ages, but the added conveniences are being favored by younger homeowners as well.
