Autistic Students Gain Skills Working at School Coffee Shop

Students in a special class for children with autism and other learning disabilities at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Edison, NJ have the task of running a school coffee shop each Friday morning, a responsibility that assists them with human interaction and life skills.

Students make coffee, ring up purchases on a cash register, and deliver coffee to different areas in the school. Profits from sales go toward class trips and activities.
