CWLA

A group of youth met at a forum on restraint and seclusion last August in Westborough, Massachusetts to talk about their experience in different systems including child welfare, mental health, and juvenile justice. More youth are publicly discussing the negative impact restraint and seclusion methods have had on their lives, according to an article published in Children’s Voice, a publication of the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA).

The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) released Nation’s Children 2010, a report which compiles state and national statistics on the health and welfare of U.S. children. The new report revealed that one-fifth of children in the country are living in poverty, which is a 20% increase from 2009. The report indicated a drop in child abuse, neglect, and the number of children in foster care.
