The Jack Ryan Residence, the Bowery Residents’ Committee’s new 200-bed facility for homeless individuals with mental health issues and chemical dependency in New York City, has trained its staff in CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program, according to an article in Chelsea Now.

Students in Yankton, SD had the opportunity to attend a summer class designed to expose them to careers in the mental health field.
School officials organized the course for students since the local schools don’t offer anything similar in the regular curriculum. Community professionals came in to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.

Members of Congress staff recently received mental illness training during a workshop at Capitol Hill.
The training taught crisis de-escalation techniques as well as how to identify signs of mental illness and how to obtain medical care for individuals with mental health issues.
