The National School Safety Center and state school superintendents are sponsoring America’s Safe Schools Week, October 16-22, 2011. This designation is intended to motivate schools, administrators, parents, students, and communities to advocate for school safety.

At an international think tank recently held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, researchers joined together to discuss bullying. Participants included three Arizona State University faculty members, who are working to create antibullying programs and to further study bullying issues.

Schools in the Manchester, New Hampshire district reported 450 claims for worker’s compensation for teachers and other employees in 2008 and 2009, with more than half of injuries linking to a student, according to a recent article.
