Now in the third grade, Tyler has received the Council for Exceptional Children’s Yes I Can! Award, excelling in the academics category. His mother credits his success to early intervention therapies and to the efforts of his special education teacher.
“‘We’re moving from a child who needs a whole bunch of help all the time to a young man who’s starting to understand what his needs and wants are and be able to tell someone else,’” Tyler’s mom said.
